Musical comedian and songwriter
Emer Maguire flawlessly blends laugh out loud musical comedy, science, and Northern Irish charm.
Her debut solo show Emer Maguire: Hilarious Humans enjoyed a sell-out run at the 2019 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Hilarious Humans takes an uproariously funny (and sometimes scientific) look at the oddities of human behaviour through Emer’s ingenious musical comedy. From the nuances of being a middle child, to social awkwardness and online dating, Emer explores what it means to be human.
In summer 2020, Emer will announce where she is taking her hit show Hilarious Humans next.
When Emer's not on stage, she also writes songs as theme tunes for podcasts and radio shows, as well as bespoke and custom songs for companies.
Emer is an international award winning science communicator and a lover of all things science and tech.
In 2015, Emer was named best science communicator in the UK when she won the prestigious science communication competition, FameLab UK.
In 2017, she travelled to Kazakhstan to represent Northern Ireland and the UK at the World Expo. There, she won International Science Stars and gained a world champion science communicator title.
Since then, Emer has engaged audiences around the world in science, bringing her science themed shows to locations such as Bulgaria, Poland, Dublin, Glasgow and London.
